This afternoon we worked on our final pieces to show everything we’ve learnt this month while celebrating Black History Month. Year 3 focused on sporting heroes from the worlds of football, rugby, boxing and athletics.
We made posters today with all the facts we’ve learnt about our sporting heroes – both old and new. Here are some photos of us in action –
We have loved doing forest school this term! Lots of fun building dens, digging for treasure and climbing trees. Today we had an extra treat and were able to toast marshmallows on the fire (with Mr Holdaway and Mrs Bennett’s help!) and had smores before heading back to class.
Here are some photos of the fun we’ve been getting up to:
Last Friday was #HelloYellow day! We came to school in our yellow clothes and in the afternoon we made bunting and designed posters to remind ourselves about the importance of looking after our mental health.
We also all enjoyed a trip down to the hall for the cake sale! It was great to get involved and raise money for the charity Young Minds who do such great work with children and young people suffering with mental health issues.
What a great end to a great week!
In our 3D curriculum lesson this afternoon, 3HL explored a cartoon based around our topic ‘attack and defense’. The children worked in groups to come up with different questions about the cartoon, then voted for their favourite one which we discussed as a whole class!
Last Friday for National Poetry Day, 3HL learnt a lovely autumn poem and came up with some fantastic actions to go alongside it. A perfect way to end the week!
WOW! What a fun afternoon 3HL had the other week, junk modelling with different recyclable materials to celebrate world recycling week!
Last Friday we learnt and acted out some Autumn poems with Mrs Leigh! We had a great time coming up with actions and performing them altogether.
Busily being the best we can be!
